Wednesday – Work out Manipura -
We possess strength in Mind, Body, and Soul.
Remaining calm amidst chaos is beneficial, as we have control over our mind and body, but excessive calmness isn't ideal either. We already have an inner fire; we need to channel it and challenge our bodies.
Lift heavy weights today and feel empowered. Recognize the strength within you.
Lower your body weight in a chaturanga.
Balance on one leg while lifting weights overhead.
Hold a plank for 1 minute and 5 seconds instead of just 1 minute. Challenge your body in any way it finds demanding.
Then, consume a balanced meal with protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats.
Stay hydrated throughout the day, drinking 0.8-1 oz per pound of your body weight. Since a gallon is 128 oz, you don't need to drink a whole gallon, but aim close to it. Avoid carrying a gallon of water all day, as it can harbor bacteria. Instead, drink small amounts throughout the day for optimal hydration and muscle recovery.
Experience the vitality post-workout. I feel as though I'm almost lifted off the ground as I walk, or as if I'm walking on a cloud—I simply feel lighter after exercising. (Given my height, I can use all the lift I can get.)
Perhaps that's why Muhammad Ali said, "float like a butterfly."
If the fire within us grows too intense and isn't released through physical activity, it turns into inflammation in our bodies. We often chase this inflammation with medication. We don't have to let it spiral out of control; we can manage it by channeling our strength (FIRE) and letting the sweat from our hard work keep it in check.
Take time for yourself. We all wish for our children or loved ones to be well-rounded, healthy, wealthy, and happy, and they wish the same for us. By taking care of yourself—body, mind, and spirit—you teach them to care for themselves too.
Yoga provides this for me, and I believe it can do the same for you or your loved ones.
Start with a 15-minute stretch. If you're unsure where to begin, reach out to me. I'd be happy to assist.
So, what will you do for strength? Release the Beast. Tame the fire that's wreaking havoc on your body.
Please share your experiences with us to inspire others with ideas to try as well.
Have a healthy day.
